MERVE HASMAN SALVATORI

HARPER'S BAZAAR INTERIORS -NY

As the interior designer of her own eclectic house, Ebru Mengenecioglu caught the attention of Harper's Bazaar New York. The eclecticism of her house design emerges from the overlay of two eras: the Ottoman Empire era and the modern era. The house, owned by the II. Sultan Abdulhamid in the late 1800s, carries Ottoman way of living in the space layout and elegant treatment of architectural elements. Considering this, Hasman envisions a scenery of a modern adaptation to the Ottoman living; a time travel without compromising the modern usage and aesthetic of the building.

Hasman's vision has been depicted on the 15-page cover story spread of June 2013 Harper's Bazaar NY Interiors and Entertainment.
